Noticed on the latest version that it is holding on to the last image seen when changing channels or when starting the app
Behaviour can be seen here
Think this happened once before in the past but has not been like this until recently.

This is a long standing issue we’ve had that only crops up in certain situations. We’re still trying to sort out what’s going on and what specifically makes it happen.
Could you submit diagnostics from the app so we can see what your settings are to help identify what configuration is having this issue?

This should be fixed with Settings > Playback > Advanced > Video Driver: Experimental. That will be the new Default option with the next release.
