Channel Collection by Source

Is there a way to create a channel collection that includes all channels for selected sources and automatically updates as channels appear or disappear from the source(s)?

I'm a little mystified as to why Automatic Channels has a sources to exclude option, but no sources to include option.

I wish. Only work around I've found over the years is include some sort of Category tag in the XML/M3U and then create automatic collection via that.

Under automatic choose which sources you want to exclude if any, then in the “enter keywords” field type a single space bar. Select add. This should do what you’re asking for.

Not what I asked, but thank you for playing.

What I described does exactly this. Perhaps you need to clarify what you are trying to accomplish.

What Rice is saying is that an Automatic Channel Collection selects channels based on what is currently airing (On Now).

Using a space for searching the programs airing will get most airings, since they probably have a space in the fields being searched. Try it.

And no, there's no include sources, only exclude sources.

And when you have 5 sources and you have excluded 4 of them you end up with the equivalent of include a single source. I imagine the developers choose the exclude option because most people are going to want to include all or most of their sources in the collections they create. I’m sure they could add an include source option but as it is now that would be kind of redundant.

Yeah. What I want is more akin to the manual channels you can specify up-top. I would like to be able to select one or more sources as an alternative to selecting a bajillion individual channels.

It does make sense that the Automatic Channels part of the definition has exclude sources and not include sources. I'm wishing for more flexibility in the selection of manual channels.
