Channel Priority for Recordings

In San Francisco, we have two HD PBS channels: KQED9 and KQED+. Each of them is broadcast on a pair of television channels. KQED9 is broadcast on 9.1 and 54.2. KQED+ is broadcast on 9.2 and 54.1. I favorite 9.1 and 9.2 because I receive stronger signals for them than for 54.1 and 54.2. However, when I set up recordings of PBS shows, the DVR always chooses to record from 54.1 or 54.2 even though those broadcast channels are NOT favorited. According to what has been written by Channels in this forum, the DVR should choose 9.1 or 9.2.

I can of course work around this problem by disabling 54.1 and 54.2. I would however prefer that the DVR work correctly as stated in this forum.

Can you post a screenshot of what 9.1 and 54.1 look like when you click the pencil icon under your HDHR?

And a screenshot of the dvr passes with the pbs show expanded vs the dvr schedule showing what channels it's going to try to use.

For a simple case, I searched for airings of PBS Newshour instead of using a DVR pass:

Here is the entry in the list of scheduled recordings:

In the airings list, the ordering is: 54.2, 9.1. In the above browser view of the scheduled recordings list, the ordering is 9.1, 54.2. Note that I usually do everything from an Apple TV. In the Apple TV view of the scheduled recordings list, only one channel number appears: 54.2.

Does that mean that the recording will be from 9.1? I'll check that in the log at 6:00 pm PST. If the recording is indeed from 9.1, then the bug is in the Apple TV client showing 54.2 instead 9.1, 54.2.

Thank you!

Looks like a display issue on the Apple TV side. I was able to confirm.

I'm looking into ways to fix it. Might be able to fix it on the DVR side.

Thanks for confirming. The bug exists on the iPhone client as well.

Please try updating your DVR to v2019.12.18.0106 to see if it fixes the issue.

DVR v2019.12.18.0106 does fix the display issue in the scheduled recordings list.

The log shows that the recording is on channel 9.1. However the recording's job id ends with the wrong channel number, thereby creating confusion:
