Channel Recall Process

In a previous thread (Previous Channel button) that was opened to discuss the creation of a 'Channel Recall' process. That thread was closed because it was 'solved'. Maddox stated that they will be looking into adding double click as a function for previous channel for those Android TV remotes without a play/pause button, does that include, Fire TV devices and remotes? Any idea when this feature will be available?

I have multiple Fire TV devices/remotes I use around the house, and I can't figure out how to do the channel recall if it is available today. Is there a way to do a 'channel recall' so I can flip between two channels without having to go back to the guide, find the channel, and select it?

I also would like an update on this Previous Channel on Android TV remote via Double Click on OK button.

It's not the OK button, it's a double click on Play/Pause....
Are there any Android remotes besides Chromecast that don't have a play/pause button?

Thanks, that works. The 'Ok/Select' button would be better, and would require less fumbling with the remote, but at least there is a way to do a quick recall.

There is NO Play/Pause button on Android TV remotes, as there is on Firesticks etc.
hence the devs say they will make it on the OK button for these Android TV devices, like the ONN device.
I think all ll Android TV remotes are like this, at any rate the ONN is very popular.
Perfect.
Many of us here are looking forward to having that.

I have all Fire TV devices and wasn't aware that Android TV remotes didn't have a 'Play/Pause' button.

I also use my devices with my Plex system, but they have their own button action programming.

The OK button does do Play/Pause "within" many Apps, such as CDVR, but is is App dependent.
Even so a Dbl Click never does anything except stop/start, even experimenting with Button Mapper.
So, we are awaiting this enhancement from the devs.
NOTE: It does have Channel Up/Down which works great with CDVR, Surf the CH's, no need to return to Grid.
It also has an "Input" button in upper right, nice. $20

Note: Double Click on FIrestick Play/Pause does do previous channel.

Shield Pro is Android TV, has the button and even has a handy nub on it so you can feel it's the correct one.

Nice but $200 vs $20.

My point was every device out there has a different remote. That makes "specific functions for certain buttons" a daunting task for developers.

Probably would've made more sense to have Android TV devices demand certain types of remotes to be able to use that platform.
