Channel Skipping Not Working

Noticed on Sunday that channel skipping wasn't working on the Today Show (my wife watches). I assumed it might have had to do with me testing the json/edl/vprj features but ended up turning that off and deleting the external commercial files using recursive delete in the folders on Sunday.

Tried Monday but still no go, even selected rescan for commercials, but nothing shows up in the players to reflect commercials have been identified. I was using v 2022.1.8 somethingabob and so this morning updated my serverthis morning to 2022.01.18.0145 before Today recorded again and just went back and same problem, no commercials detected.

That means the commercial detection program (which is actually a separate program from the DVR server itself) failed to find any commercials. Most likely this is because of some ticker running along the bottom of the screen or similar. It doesn't matter what version of DVR server you are using, as that is not what is scanning for commercials.

It's just a reality that not all recordings can be successfully scanned.

That makes sense. We've been under weather alerts the past 3-4 days, and usually there is a banner at the bottom with school closing and such. Didn't notice until you said something, the banner is there even during the commercials.
