Maybe I am just not finding it, I certainly can’t be blamed for not trying... is there a way to just go channel up and/or down between the different channels (without having to go back to the guide and pressing on the next channel? I mean like on a regular remote up and down in the channels). Please help!!!

Not at the present time, no.
Swipe down on the remote, and you can access all of your favorite channels. You can see what's on them and switch right to them from that.
Just so happens that my Fire TV 4k can be channel shifted with the channels up/down buttons on my 32 inch Sony TV. Fast and great for my wife's channel surfing. Doesn't work with our large Sony.
So it can be done if Channels would/could figure out the right buttons on the fire TV remote.
This is a must-have for me. Without a channel up/down function there is no way to quickly scan what is “on now”. Guides do not allow the serendipitous discovery of new content the same way channel surfing does.
