I recorded The Dark Tower (2017) off of HBO and Channels added commerical breaks for me, where there was none.

There needs to be a way that we can skip commercial detection on certain channels ā€¦ I have to record my movies with no commercials using other DVR software ā€¦ as I find it a waste of time to do comskip on Movies with no commercials.

Maybe just have an options for recordings and series recordings to skip or not skip commercials? Or just don't skip the commercials if you know there's not supposed to be commercials

You can disable comskip per show from the options menu in recordings tab.

I do not want to babysit a DVR and go through all my scheduled recordings and disable comskip ā€¦ why not just give us the option on passes to comskip or not when setting them up.

I agree it would be nice to toggle this in the passes section, but the method I mentioned applies to the whole pass for a show, not individual episodes... ie: if you record NOVA on PBS (no commercials) then disable the comskip for that show and all new episodes will record with comskip disabled.... you only have to set it once

Thanks for this. Just changed all the shows we record on PBS.

Iā€™d really like to be able to disable by channel...as we record movies on the TCM channel...but have no way to disable commercial detect in advance.

yes, now its TV Shows, click into show, show options.

Thanks for the quick reply. What platform are you seeing "TV Shows" on? I'm on Apple TV and I see On Later, On Now, Guide, Recordings, Library, Search, and Settings. I can look in Settings for "Scheduled Recordings" and then go to a future scheduled recording and click "Adjust Options", but the only options I get are to start early and/or end late.

I'm guessing I'm simply overlooking something. Any idea? Thanks!

Edit: I found it! I had to go into Settings > General > Manage Navigation and enable "TV Shows". Then from there I could go into a specific show, click ...More, and adjust "Event Options".
