Channels app can't find the server

Just installed Channels on my laptop, all went fine. When I try to use my TV Channels app, it can't find the server. Tried entering the IP manually, still can't find it. The setup is: HDHR Flex 4, Lenovo laptop (maybe 3 year old), Verizon 5g internet. The 5g gateway provides wifi to all my devices.
Everything is wireless except the HDHR.
(1) do you think the 5g internet is a problem?
(2) do you think the fact that my laptop is wirelessly connected is a problem?

I have a hub coming to connect the laptop via ethernet to the 5g gateway.
The HDHR app works fine. If I fire up the Plex server on this same setup, the Plex app finds the Plex server fine.
Is there something about the way Channels does their connection different from Plex?
Thanks for any input.

Make sure on the server under Settings/General that you have Network Discovery checked. Also look under Support/Troubleshooting to see what issues you have.

Yep, network discovery checked and I read thru a lot of the forum. Sent in a support request, just was wondering if anyone on the forums had a similar issue. It's weird (to me) that Plex and HDHR work fine, but not Channels.

I also tried turning off the firewall, doublechecking all the settings and IP addresses.

What device did you install the Channels app on?

What are the IPs of the DVR and HDHR and streaming device

Could be the windows firewall

I thought all that was in my post. The first 3 segments of the DVR/HDHR/Streamer all match. As stated, I disabled the firewall, no effect.
I'm going to get a hub so I can connect the laptop to ethernet and see then.
