Channels app says "Tuner not available" on every channel

I’m experiencing an issue where every channel is showing “Tuner not available” in my Apple TV App. The tuner devices are discovered and are able to channel scan (they find 103 channels). The tuners are added via “scan network for tuners”.

Rebooting the ATV and tuners by removing power does not resolve the issue.

The same tuners play fine on my iPhone’s screen with an older Channels app.

The setup is that I have 2x HdHomeRun Extends, both with static IPs. Wired gigabit ethernet is run to a 64gb 4k ATV. iPhone connected via 802.11n network on 5ghz.

ATV version 11.1 (15J582)
Channels ATV version: 3.1.4
IPhone 7+ version: 11.1.2 (15B202)
Channels phone version: 2.1.4

Both tuners are upgraded to the latest firmware via the ATV app.

Is there a diagnostic procedure I can follow to debug this?

Click into your HDHR from my.hdhomerun.com and see what the System Status > System Log says. Also check Tuner Status to see if the tuners are busy.

Try turning off the setting “Tuner Sharing.”

As a follow-up: I was able to resolve this issue by a complete wipe and restore of the ATV, followed by reinstalling the Channels app.

The settings in the Channels app are identical to what I had before, so it must have been some kind of corruption.

The logs in the tuners did not show any attempts to stream from the ATV’s IP while it was in the broken state. It was as if it didn’t even try to connect and just showed an error.
