Channels DVR and Silicon Dusts New Premium TV Offering?

I can see Silicon Dusts new Premium TV offering in my Channels App (Apple TV 4). Will the Channels DVR record programs in Silicon Dusts Premium Channel TV offering if I subscribe? And with Channels DVR will I have the 14 day guide with Silicon Dusts Premium TV offering?

Yes everything will work just like your OTA channels once you subscribe to premium.

Perfect! Thank you.

So I can’t seem to be able to record from the Apple TV app. I can watch live tv, but every time I select a premium channel to record it says I need to subscribe (I already am). Through the web interface I can select items to record off of Premium channels. Any ideas?

When did you subscribe? Do you have one hdhomerun or more than one?

Try restarting the app by clicking TV/Home twice and swiping up.

I just subscribed today. I did restart the app in the apple tv and it’s still giving me the same message on all premium channels. Forgot to mention - I have 2 tuners on the HDHomerun.

On my.hdhomerun.com on the channel list does it say demo? You need to reboot the hdhomerun after subscribing

I checked that too and the “demo” went away a little while after subscribing. The funny part is that via the channels web interface I can select record no problem.

In the web UI where the HDHR are shown, click gear > Scan Network. Then click the circle refresh icon under the HDHR.

Then in the app click and hold HDHR and select Refresh

Yep! That did it. This is the fastest customer support I have ever experienced. Thanks for the help. Channels DVR is amazing.

I am trying to use the DVR Web UI in the Echo Show. The On Now is not showing the Premium Channels. I recently subscribed and the DEMO word is no longer showing in the DVR Settings. And I also rebooted the DVR. The Premium Channels are showing in the Guide with All Channels Selected. But for this to work on the Echo Show I need them to show up on the On Now. Right now On Now only shows the OTA Channels.

On Now only shows favorited channels.

Thanks - That should work for this purpose.

Setting Favorite Channels. If I set them in the DVR that seems to update the actual tuner (same as with my.hdhomerun.com) which would affect all of the clients. However, if I update from the Apple TV Client which is where I normally use Channels it does not. It only affects that Apple TV. Maybe that is a good idea for some/most use cases but in my case I prefer it update all clients. Is that an option or should just do it mainly on my.hdhomerun.com or in the DVR if that is what I want to happen?

Changes on the DVR propagate to the tuner, and vice versa as you've found out. Favorite settings on the client override those received from the server.

To resync your favorites from the server to a client, select the option to rescan the network for tuners. (While this has worked for me with Android clients, it doesn't seem to work on iOS.)

Resync does not appear to work on tvOS. I can see some not liking that so would be nice to have a special sync button. But not a high priority for me. Was just checking to save some time.
