Channels DVR Docker memory usage

I thought, 1.25GB, no way, something's wrong.

Appears that recent recordings are using Cached memory.
Docker-2
When I deleted that recording and emptied the trash, back to normal.

I'll have to keep an eye on it to see if the Docker daemon releases memory after some limit is reached.

No worries. It's normal.
It never causes a problem and is really "available memory".
Checked both of my Synology NAS's running Channels DVR in Docker Containers.
Docker Container Ram Usage gets up to multiple GB's.
This is the Docker Container, not Channels DVR.
My guess is the Docker overlay filesystem is using it.
If you want to experience a time sink you can checkout Linux cached memory.

Record to a RAM Drive on disk. Huh?

Virtual memory and filesystem cache are complex systems.

You are correct that this is normal and nothing to worry about. The RAM is not actively used and is available to other programs which need it.
