I have tried every single app, including tvheadend, emby, plex, nextpvr, and they all sometimes fail recordings, while channel DVR has a much higher success rate. I am curious why Channels DVR can record IPTV at a higher success rate than these apps. What makes Channels DVR unique?
We don't test our app with IPTV, but our streaming code is very robust because it's been tested and developed to work on airplane WiFi, starlink, etc.

You get what you pay for. Channels cost monthly ongoing $. In return you get a product with 3 very active developers.

All of my recordings with IPTV Custom Channels have been rock solid. I've noticed that even when the live play is buffering the recording plays smooth. I just record and watch it later.
TVE has always been smooth for me either way.

IPTV is only as good as the source providing the stream.
i've thought of playing with it but just depends on what you want for entertainment.
