So, I was remote and noticed my DVR had an update available. I told it to update, then I lost remote access to the DVR. When I got home, I cant start the service. The service is in the task manager but wont start. When I launch the app it gives me two choices, Start DVR service, or Remove DVR service, neither does anything. I downloaded the ChannelsDVR and tried to run that too, when I do I get Start Installation or start DVR service, neither does anything. My folder is still on C: with (Database, Images, Imports, Logs, Streaming, TV) Not sure where to go from here, but the update killed my installation.

Please try running the installer from our website
I already tried the installer before posting and rebooted a couple of times too.
I get a couple choices on installer after "start Installation". Open DVR settings(site cannot be reached) Remove DVR service, (goes to 1. Start DVR in System Tray, Install DVR as background service, or uninstall DVR software. I have tried all of them and keep going in a circle going no where. Service will not start "Error 2: the system cannot find the file specified."
Well, after multiple attempts to remove and reinstall had failed. I found that during the update, it must have removed the "latest" folder. I recreated the folder and copied the .exe file to the folder. It then allowed me to start the installation. Once the installation was complete I was able to do a restore. It is all working now.
Was C:\ProgramData\ChannelsDVR\latest missing?
I recall a few users had issues on Windows related to the latest folder.
Yes, it disappeared during the update. I manually recreated it.
OK, now remote viewing wasnt working because it was missing FFMPEG, and FFPROBE. I found them and copied them to the LATEST folder. Everything seems to work, but I get these errors in the logs:

Please run the installer from our website to ensure the correct exe files are put into the latest folder.
Can you tell me what files should be in the LATEST folder?
It sounds like you have some antivirus software that is mucking around and deleting the exe files.
The files and names depend on the type of computer. The ffmpeg you copied earlier is not the correct one. It has to be a specific version to work correctly.
I would recommend:
- go to c:\programdata
- rename ChannelsDVR to ChannelsDVR-Old
- run the installer
- stop the dvr
- move data folder from Old to new install
- start dvr from installer
I did exactly as you said. Everything went fine and everything is working. However, I do get an error on Windows boot:

Database failure: couldn't open settings.db: open settings.db: Access is denied.
Hm perhaps the files in the data folder are not using the right permissions for some reason.
Another option is to move that directory away, reinstall, then use the built-in restore option to pick a database backup. That may fix it.
