Please try running the installer from our website
I already tried the installer before posting and rebooted a couple of times too.
I get a couple choices on installer after "start Installation". Open DVR settings(site cannot be reached) Remove DVR service, (goes to 1. Start DVR in System Tray, Install DVR as background service, or uninstall DVR software. I have tried all of them and keep going in a circle going no where. Service will not start "Error 2: the system cannot find the file specified."
Well, after multiple attempts to remove and reinstall had failed. I found that during the update, it must have removed the "latest" folder. I recreated the folder and copied the .exe file to the folder. It then allowed me to start the installation. Once the installation was complete I was able to do a restore. It is all working now.
Was C:\ProgramData\ChannelsDVR\latest missing?
I recall a few users had issues on Windows related to the latest folder.
Yes, it disappeared during the update. I manually recreated it.
OK, now remote viewing wasnt working because it was missing FFMPEG, and FFPROBE. I found them and copied them to the LATEST folder. Everything seems to work, but I get these errors in the logs:

Please run the installer from our website to ensure the correct exe files are put into the latest folder.
Can you tell me what files should be in the LATEST folder?
It sounds like you have some antivirus software that is mucking around and deleting the exe files.
The files and names depend on the type of computer. The ffmpeg you copied earlier is not the correct one. It has to be a specific version to work correctly.
I would recommend:
I did exactly as you said. Everything went fine and everything is working. However, I do get an error on Windows boot:

Hm perhaps the files in the data folder are not using the right permissions for some reason.
Another option is to move that directory away, reinstall, then use the built-in restore option to pick a database backup. That may fix it.
Well, without touching anything, apparently at 8:25pm Pacific Time tonight, an update was applied and completely took my system down, just like in the above description. I had to go through the same entire reinstall process and restore to get everything working again.
Reason #978 to not use Windows 10/11 to run a server....
The update was a channels update, not Windows.
Apparently, no one else is having problems with the update process, including me (using Windows 11).

I only have windows servers and have Channels DVR setup to update only when IDLE daily and have no problems at all ... it sounds like you might be having a drive problem ... do a scandisk.
