Channels DVR now recording cable channels from Premium (demo)

Over the last few days while catching up on recordings I’ve noticed all my recent shows from cable channels have recorded off the HDHR Premium, but in demo mode, since I"m not a subscriber. I’ve got a Quatro and Prime, arranged in that order of priority. Since the Premium channels now show up, it appears the recordings are all defaulting there. Do I have to go disable all the channels manually, or is there something smarter on the DVR to ignore them and record from my Prime?

With the tvOS app you’ve put a nice checkbox on Premium to disable, seems like that would be useful on the DVR webpage as well.

Huh strange. The DVR is configured to never record from demo channels. What version of the DVR was running when that happened? Can you post the logs for one of the recordings.

If you update to the latest pre-release there is an option to ignore all premium demo channels in the HDHR section under the gear dropdown.

Looks like it was around the week of 8/20 where the recordings had issues (likely fixed now). Build at the time was 2018.08.02. I’m running the latest 2018.09.05 now, but unfortunately I have many failed recordings.

Ah okay. The fix for the demo channels went out on 8/27. Before that, most people weren’t affected by demo channels on the DVR, but in your case since some of the channel numbers overlap the DVR thought it had guide data for those demo channels and tried to record from them =(

It’s all fixed up now, but it sucks that you missed some recordings. I was on vacation for my first wedding anniversary when Premium TV was announced and the demo channels showed up, so it took us a bit longer than usual to add support and push out updates.

Appreciate the reply, and the work you’ve done to get this all worked out so quickly. Like many have said it would have been nice if SiliconDust had worked with you guys ahead of time to have a smoother rollout. Definitely don’t expect you to be working on this on your anniversary. You guys do a great job not just on the product, but on the forum feedback and openness to issues. It makes other experiences with other software companies extremely frustrating when comparing to what you guys have done here.
