Channels DVR on Mac mini with user on external SSD

I've got a new Mac mini M4 and have an external drive where I also have setup for my user directory.

I run the installer for the DVR and it creates the Application Support directory correctly and the LaunchAgent plist but it will not start the DVR automatically.

I must go into Application Support and manually run channels-dvr to get it to start.

Is this configuration not supported?

MacOS on the internal HD and user directory on the external SSD.

will it be? This is becoming more common due to the cost of the upgraded storage with the new Mac mini.

I moved from my Nvidia Shield Pro after it was announced it was no longer supported.

Not clear why it doesn't work. We install the launch agent but macOS doesn't like it.

Our recommendation is to leave the user folder on the internal drive, and use the external drive for recordings storage.

TMM1 - this is exactly what I do and it works just great. Mac Mini with an 18tb external hard drive for DVR and other shows that I store.

Fixed!

After the installation, move the plist from the user LaunchAgent folder to the Main Library LaunchAgent folder and everything works as it did before :grinning:
