Channels DVR on Rasbperry Pi - OTA tuners

I'd like to try and get a Hauppauge OTA USB tuner to work with the Channels DVR that I have installed on a RPi using the build from Channels. I believe that apt is not installed and the build is fairly small to keep it focused and clean and as secure as possible, which is great. I believe I need to install tvheadend to make the Hauppauge work, but I don't know if that is feasible or how to go about it. I appreciate any input or suggestions.

Also, separately, is there a tutorial on how to enable wireless on the Channels DVR RPi build?

The Channels Pi image is intended to run as an “appliance” for the DVR server. I’m sure they do t mind if you want to the let with it to make it do other things, but don’t expect official support. I’m not aware of anybody else currently using USB tuners with Channels in any fashion.

Regarding your question about WiFi, that has come up a few times, I think if you search “pi WiFi” on the forums you’ll probably be able to find some guidance.

The image uses NetworkManager to handle network connections. Check out the nmcli (1) manpage for info.
