New poster. I am running the Nvidia shield channels DVR server on an android Nokia 8000 streaming box (Amlogic S905X3) streaming box with a 1tb ssd hdd drive . I recognise it’s not available for technical support. It’s surprisingly running well on and worked straight away much better than I expected.
The Nokia 8000 also has a single dvb-t over the air usb-c tuner that runs off own system software and makes a source available in google live channels. There’s no dvr and if it was included it would be basic.
Ok so odd question can I get the google live channels to re-output as a m3u and then get that into channels dvr ? From what I can see and research the input tv source in Android tv is totally locked down to 3rd parties. I guess maybe I can get at the earlier stream /dvb hardware - uses something called dtvkit but don’t think it’s open source. I’m not a programmer but I guess I would need to start looking at the whole dvb stack implementation.
Essentially I thought I could do a one box Android tv channels dvr. I may switch to a raspberry PI as that would work for one box with more tuners but ideally Android tv might be better as the interface is more suited.
