Channels DVR setup seems good except for CBS channels

I have set up Channels DVR and everything went smoothly except I cannot view CBS on Android TV, my Pixel phone, my iPad nor the browser using any form of trans-coding. The channel, 2.1, is detected by Channels. I can view CBS from my TV's antenna connection as well as Plex via the same HDHomerun as Channels so I don't believe it's a reception problem. I am in Los Angeles. Perhaps the issue is because CBS here is 1080i and the rest appear to be 720p? I get this same issue with CBS if I try to view CBS from the HDHomerun app. I am running the server on Windows 10 connected via ethernet. From the log it appears that there is a time out issue and Android says "Playback Failed" Any help would be appreciate. I like Channels DVR but if I cannot get CBS to work I will have to stay with Plex.

Please click Submit Diagnostics from the app after attempting to play the channel

Submitted. Thank you for the prompt reply!

Wow, quite an old HDHR you have there.

Seems like a bug in the timeout code for the UDP connections needed for the older models. Perhaps that channel is taking longer to tune than others.

Can you try in the app changing Tuner Sharing: On in Settings > DVR and see if that helps.

I tried it with the Android app on my Pixel. Unfortunately it didn't work. Yes, my tuner is very old. I do plan on upgrading it but wanted to wait for the newer 4k models since we're transitioning here I believe. Perhaps once I get a new tuner I can try again. Thanks.

Can you submit diagnostics again with tuner sharing on? Surprised that didn't work. Submit from the DVR web UI too (since tuner sharing makes the stream go through the DVR).

Submitted via both Android and web UI. Thanks.

Thanks! Looks like a similar issue on the DVR. We assume tune will happen within 3s, and that some video data will appear atleast every 6s.

Can you try the official HDHR app on your PC and use a stopwatch to see how long it takes to tune that particular channel? We can bump our timeouts accordingly.

So it appears after I installed the official HDHR app, it updated my firmware and the issue has been resolved. I did time changing from CBS to NBC and the other way around and it appeared switching to CBS was actually faster, around 4 seconds. Thanks for the help.

I was wondering however whether both tuners of my HDHR are being utilized? I noticed that I don't appear to be able to record a show and watch another at once. Thanks.

Can you hit record on two shows from the web UI and then see if the Log or Schedule tab in the browser show an error?

I sent you the log as well but I get this error: Failed to start stream on channel 5.1 via 103AD5FF: unable to lock tuner: ERROR: resource locked by 192.168.29.155 (0).

I confirmed that the DVR tries both tuners. That message is shown when both tuners are busy. Are you sure nothing else was using the tuners at the same time?

Newer HDHRs are much easier to use, and also have a web UI where you can see what each tuner is doing. I think the older one has a web UI but its much more limited. You can check via my.hdhomerun.com

There's only about six stations live in the whole country, so you may be waiting a while.

I have been having a similar issue for weeks now where my Friday night recording of Blue Bloods and Magnum PI on CBS fail ever week. I run the Channels DVR on my Synology SD718+ with an HDHomeRun Quatro and also live in Los Angeles.
