Channels DVR subscription

I’m a very happy user of Channels. excellent support etc etc.

However, here in the UK the yearly subscription is nearly £73 per annum. Almost the same price as Amazon Prime, and Netflix. (not combined)

I appreciate we are victims of Brexit etc… but is there any likelihood of this price being reduced at any point? Obviously, using channels without it is pretty useless.

Just a thought.

What most people may not realize is that Netflix and Amazon Video both are running at a huge deficit and are only still in operation by depending on market share and/or the other businesses in the brand.

Fancy Bits (the channels devs) probably cannot afford to price it lower with their own obligations for licensing and guide data.

Yes I do realise. Perhaps a better comparison would be plex pass. Hdhomerun. And eyetv. (Though as far as I can see eyetv is now abandonware.)

Channels is a fantastic piece of software with fantastic support. I for one certainly don’t want to see channels go under for lack of funding!

Perish the thought. I couldn’t imagine trying to live without Channels. My life would be a lot more complicated trying to utilize any other solution. WMC was good until…

Even without DRM support (which I do need for our lineup), Channels has been the ultimate solution for day to day use in our household. Nothing compares. The devs have added features that I didn’t even envision when first utilizing and dreaming of a perfect solution. It is absolutely the best!

That’s why I’m good paying a little more, because Plex sucks and HDHomeRun DVR can’t even compare. I definitely get what I pay for from Channels, and we actually get responses from @tmm1 and @maddox. They really truly care, and want to help everyone.
