Channels DVR to put on Plex

Is there a way I can load my recordings or my old watched stuff.
Maybe copy files over or send files to the storage path plex uses so my family and friends can see it as well?

You can add it under Local Content.

See https://getchannels.com/docs/channels-dvr-server/how-to/local-content/

Within plex library management, can you not simply ADD the ChannelsDVR record folder as a location?

this will send my dvr to the path my Plex folder so I can watch my stuff from plex?

No. If you want to watch from Plex then go to Plex and add your dvr TV folder there.

maybe im confused how this whole thing or Plex works. My files are stored on a hd on my raspi, they are not accessible through the plex account on my laptop. How do I get these over to where my plex can find them?

If the 2 pieces of software are on 2 different computers that do not have access to the recorded files, then you'll of course have to do some kind of network share.

If Plex and Channels DVR Server are on the same computer that share the drive, then you just point each software at your files and they will scan them in.

first scenario, its running on raspi and plex is older computer since raspi cant transcode on plex very well.
How do I network share?

If your plex server and channels server computers cannot see/connect to each other -- then what you're trying to do won't be possible - that's not a limitation of either piece of software, that's just a fact about networking.

If you're on the same network but on different machines, you should setup a a SHARED FOLDER that both the RPi and the Plex computer can both access. Set ChannelsDVR to record to that folder (presumably on your external hard drive) and then go into Plex and find that folder on your network and add it as an additional folder for your TV library.
