Channels for HD Homerun vs Whole Home DVR app

Hi - I’m new to this community, so I apologize in advance if this post is in the wrong location. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.

I am currently using the Channels for HD Homerun app with Apple TV/IOS. I use HD Homerun only for recording using the Silicon Dust DVR app ($35).

The Channels for HD Homerun app is a much cleaner, intuitive experience on both Apple TV and IOS when watching live TV.

I and NOT currently using a mini PC/NAS as a DVR server for Channels, but plan on doing it soon, as I understand that the Channels DVR experience will be much nicer and have commercial skip! I had that with my Legacy Tablo, but the tuner was degraded after over 8 years of use.

Question: Will the Channels for HD Homerun app that I purchased for IOS and Apple TV ($39.99 and $9.99 respectively) still work if I set up a mini PC DVR (server), or will I need to install the free Channels: Whole Home DVR app?

I know the HD Homerun DVR app will be $35 loss, but curious about the Channels for HD Homerun apps.

Thanks !

You can keep using the app you have now with the DVR

Thanks for your reply. I assumed that was the case, but was not certain.
