Channels integrated provider support

Right now I have a multiple HD Homerun cable card setup, but I also have an OTA tuner. I have done some trial and error with both Sling and Philo to determine if one of their offerings could meet my needs using Channels with TV Everywhere along with the OTA and get rid of Verizon Fios TV / cable cards.

As of now, I don't see a solution that allows me to continue using channels without giving up quite a bit over what I have now. TVE support is a great option and has helped me get around some DRM channels on Verizon Fios, but it's just not there in terms of completeness and quality of the stream.

I wonder if the Channels developers have considered partnering with one of the OTT providers for direct integration so that all channels can be utilized within Channels and possibly with higher quality (video / sound)?

I know that Silicon Dust attempted their own service at one point, but it was a disaster and didn't last very long because it was utilizing a shady provider.

I doubt that will ever happen but...

What is your setup? I ask becuase I always thought tve was terrible until I bought an appletv and used the testflight build with experimental driver settings. Now TVE looks amazing and is rock solid for me. The only thing that I don't like is there is no 5.1 audio but I can deal on that...

Why are you limiting yourself to Sling and Philo? There are other Streaming tv providers out there.

I don't have really any qualms about picture quality, but lack of 5.1 audio is pretty big... and the bigger issue is the fact that not every channel is available for TVE so if you go that route you're not going to able to use all the channels you're paying for.

Price. Those are the two cheapest that still have a decent selection of channels and offer TVE.

They are cheaper partially because they don't include locals. That works for me pulling them in via antenna.

I use DTS Neo 6 as an upmixer to 5.1 from the stereo streams and it gets me 85% there...
