When I select logs under Support on the Main Menu, I get the perpetual spinning doughnut of death ... no log output?? How do I fix it?
Change the url to display the log directly
http://192.168.1.4:8089/log
That should display the last 5,000 lines from the log. To see more, add the # lines you want with ?n=

Is Channels DVR running?
Maybe it crashed.
Can you view the actual log file?
