Channels server hangs on authorization

I am trying to install my channels DVR on a new ubuntu installation. It seems the install worked fine, and it found the database on the hard drive i moved over to the new computer, but then it asks to authenticate my account. My account is active (I am logged into it now) but when the server tries to authenticate I get the perpetually spinning infinity wheel. It has been like this for an hour.

The end of the channels-dvr-http.log file is:

Screenshot? Try another browser?

Things are a little better now. I saw a switch that was to enable the server, so I turned it on. Now I can watch what is live on the HD Homerun, but my existing recordings seem to be unavailable.

I think I have this whole thing really AFU. I have three external drives that I have been accumulating over time. I had thought I had accidentally deleted everything, but I see a lot of current recordings in the directory:

/media/bill/My Book/DVR-Recordings/TV

This is my storage configuration:

You would need to find the correct backup that references those recordings if they're not showing up

stupid question... How do I give it a different database? I think I have found the correct backup from a few days ago. It is using a backup from a different directory from over a year ago

Go to http://xxxx:8089/restore and pick the correct one there

It turns out, it is not the right backup :frowning: Can I just consolidate everything I have recorded into the directories under PlayOn, TV, DVR-Recordings and then have it rebuild the database from what is there?

Ohh - I got it! It looks like I had run a channels server from two different locations. Not surprising as this disk has been around. I think there are movies from one location that I can copy over to the active location. I assume I can just move these files over and that Channels will eventually spot them and add them to the library for the client.

The only way to bring things into the Channels Library that aren't in its database is to import them as local content imports
