Could be the latest backup is corrupt so you could try an older one
When it loads the backup files, it only loads the ones from tonight---how do I force it to load a backup from 2 days ago? The 2-day old backup is in the DVR directory from before---I can see it there, but even though the wizard looks in the DVR directory from before (the same old path), it only loads tonight's backups as possible choices.
create an Old folder inside Database and move all the backup- except the one you want to use inside there
Then it should show just that one to let you restore
Update: In the ProgramData>ChannelsDVR, many things have now populated. I see directories for all my custom m3u channels, and the recorder.db and the settings.db folders seem robust. But The Channels Server will still not load. Perhaps there are additional log files that will help diagnose.
Is the exe running in task manager?
There are 9 apps running. It is not one of them.
channels-dvr.exe is sitting the the "latest" folder
It must be crashing still.

and a fresh install is essentially an overwrite of what's there? or do I delete the Channels DVR folder from the Program data folder, first?
