Channels Settings page stuck on "booting"

Rebooted my computer (as I do once a week to refresh everything) and upon launching Channels, it is stuck on the Settings "booting" page (says "Status about this server), and will not complete the booting. Never had this before---has anyone else? Tried to gather diagnostic logs, but it just spins and will not do that either.

What are the last few lines in the log?

Open http://127.0.0.1:8089/debug/stack then hit File>Save and email to [email protected]

Thanks for the link and the quick reply! But cannot get there---getting this:
"Unable to connect
Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:8089."

It would only work from the PC where the dvr is running. Or else change the IP to match the dvr server

Thanks. This is the PC that has the DVR server. How to change IP match the dvr server?

Then it sounds like the dvr is crashing for some reason

Open c:/programdata/ChannelsDVR/data/channels-dvr.log and copy/paste the last page of lines

I concede that I may have made it worse by (re)installing DVR tonight.

Try deleting the recorder.idx directory in C:\ProgramData\ChannelsDVR\data

If that doesn't work, delete the .airings and .groups folders

deleted recorder.idx
windows wont let me delete airings and groups

Huh. Try as administrator? Or rename them? Or move to some place else

cut them out (they're gone now) and stuck them on the desktop

Okay try starting the dvr now and I think it will work

I must have really messed this up. Still getting:

Unable to connect
Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:8089.

Is there a way to clear all this out and start over?
Or even better (but I doubt) retrieve all my settings from before (and all those passes)?

Does task manager show channels-dvr.exe running?

Try running Channels DVR from the start menu. It should show up in the system tray

You can copy the .db files from the data folder then delete ChannelsDVR and reinstall

There are also backups of the db files next to your recordings in the Database folder.

no, not running channels-dvr.exe in task manager apps
launching from the start menu doesnt put it in the system tray (but prior to my mess, it did)

I see the backups of the db files in my recordings folder-yay.
How do I restore them, once I delete and reinstall?
