Channels TVE issue

Since the latest

Since the latest DVR server update, I can no longer watch anything but OTA channels. My YoutubeTV channels are not streaming as they should. All are choppy video and not sure what has happened. Rebooted my Raspberry Pi and ATV but didn’t help. Any ideas what happened?

Try powering down the pi, reboot router and power up pi after router is up

I tried rebooting the router as well…no change. I did go to another ATV 4K that I have and it doesn’t have the issue. I am beginning to think the older ATVs may not have the horsepower? I’ll keep looking.

What are the results of a speed test to the server from within the settings in the atv app

Can you describe the behavior you’re seeing?

If you’re using the older Apple TV HD (non 4K) I believe some performance issues were addressed recently. You may want to try the latest beta and see if it’s better.

Eric, on my older ATVs(pre 4K) the channels that I have added from YouTube TV were jumpy (freeze and resume really quick). Today, I have tried all of my ATVs and they are working fine. I have 1Gig internet so I know it wasn’t a bandwidth issue because my YTTV apps worked fine. Maybe just an anomaly that has appeared to be gone now. I’ll post here if it comes back. Thanks

All seems to be fine today. I may try the beta that you mention if the issue reappears. Thanks for the info.

This description sounds like the situation we improved in the betas. If it crops up again that will be a good thing to try.

All channels are having the issue now. I loaded 2021.1101.2046 just now and all channels, OTA & YTTV channels are pretty much unwatchable. Any other ideas? I haven’t checked my ATV 4K but the HDs are all doing the same thing. The SD OTA channels aren’t having the issue. I tried recording an HD OTA channels and checked to see if the video is jumpy and it is.

Please go to Settings -> Support -> Submit Diagnostic Logs from your device and let us know when it's been submitted so we can have a better idea of what was going on.

Submitted logs just now

It doesn't look like you're running the TestFlight beta. It installs as a separate app called Channels Beta so it doesn't conflict with the App Store app.

Can you try running that one and see if it has any better results?

I guess I have to be invited to participate in the beta testing and then load the app in TestFlight?

You just need to click the link in the link below from an iOS device.

Update: My A1842 ATVs are not having the issue. The A1625 does have the issue. I am trying to get to the beta but the link that I need to go to to get is not valid. I’ll try it if I can get it.

I go to the link and select Join the Beta but the link is not valid. Any other way to join?

Worked for me last Friday.
Try loading the page linked below on an iOS device (iPhone or iPad) and click the link there.
You can't join the Beta from an Apple TV, but once you've joined from an iPhone or iPad you'll see the Beta in Test Flight on your Apple TV.

How can I run a speed test from my ATV? I have found the issue only shows itself on my oldest ATV. The newer 4K units are working fine.

Doesn’t work now. I tried from my iPhone and iPad
