This just started today. One channel that we record lots on is recording and running behind by 1 hour on channels DVR. When I go to the provider on my PC directly (not in channels), it is running at the correct time. All other channels seem to be ok. It is recording the Past 1 hour show AND playing it in LIVE in Channels DVR. It's not exactly 1 hour. Was 30 min earlier. Now about 1 hour off. I brought up my Spectrum app on PC and turned to that channel - no issue. Went to LIVE in channels on that channel and it's showing the program from about 1 hour ago. All recordings for that channel are 1 hour off. So when it's supposed to be recording one show, it's recording the prior hour's show. Not sure what to do.
Thanks.
You need to say what your source for the channel is.
If it's a SiliconDust HDHR tuner, check the zap2it website to see if it's correct there.
If not an HDHR tuner, would need to know the source and what channel.
Source is Spectrum, the only source I use currently.
HDHR tuner or TVE?
Source is TVE.
What channel name?
Channel that is off is Fox News. My spouse records many of the evening news shows on that and some other channels. I'll check some other channels that we record on and see it they are off any. Usually, the recording is off a minute or so; and I've seen that is normal for TVE.
Hallmark channel, which we record a lot also, is off about 1 min or so. Not recording on that channel at the moment. We are recording on Fox News right now. But that's not been an issue before today. Maybe I should just restart the server and see if that fixes. I'm using Raspberry Pi 4b.
If just one channels is off by more than a couple minutes, it's most like the guide data from Gracenote (which Channels DVR uses) is wrong. A lot of TVE channel guide data is off by a minute.
I rebooted. It appears to be back on schedule now. Thanks for your input.
Odd, the same thing happened to me starting last night. Fox News and Fox Business was about 50 minutes late and after a couple of reboots it is now 25 minutes behind this morning. CNN and a few other channels I recorded are right on time. I'm also using TVE.
I have noticed the delay comes after the station puts up their commercial break screen. When the program should return, actual advertisements start running rather than returning to the program in progress, resulting in the delay. Each time this happens the program gets farther and farther behind.
For instance, watching Fox News this morning, after returning from the extended commercial break, the time Fox News was displaying on the screen as the current time was actually 5 minutes behind the actual time. After each commercial break, the difference between the time shown by Fox News and the actual time kept increasing.
As others have stated, I too saw this start yesterday, Monday, 01/07/25.
Someone is adding additional commercials when the stream should be returning to the program. I am not sure how you figure out who that is.
My setup - TVE using YouTube TV
I just posted a detailed description of the problem I'm having, in this thread: TVE Commercials - #4 by rpaulmerrell
It appears to be a recording issue with Channels DVR. I was recording shows on Fox News and it was about 50 minutes behind - when I tried to watch LIVE during the recording but via the LIVE TV selection (didn't select watch from beginning or anything).
Then, I turned OFF recording and went back to the LIVE show. It was on perfect time (well, maybe 1 min off as usual with TVE).
I suggest you duplicate the issue then submit diagnostics from the server using the troubleshooting section under support. This forum is for users helping users, the official means of support is to report issues by emailing them at

+1 I have noticed this on Fox News, it's easy to keep track of since there is a clock on the broadcast. As others have noticed it seems to be related to the change in commercial breaks with them adding actual commercials along with the silent "commercial break".
Please let us know if the behavior is any different in the latest pre-release.

Still seeing same issue here with latest release. Does it on both Mac and Windows 11 based servers.
I think I got a version of this problem earlier this week too.
Last night, my wife was watching a recording of Kitchen Nightmares recorded on Fox on Tuesday evening. She showed me that about 4 or 5 minutes of the end of the show were missing. We checked to make sure that it started airing on time and it did, there was no delay at the beginning.
I also had a backup recording of it in my Hulu DVR. I checked the recording there of exactly the same airing and it was complete as expected.
So it seems that the TVE stream got delayed during the recording.
I haven't had a chance to take a look at the commercial breaks yet but I'm guessing that's probably what happened.
