Channels vs Channels DVR

I am still confused with the difference between the Channels App and the Channels DVR. Both seem to do the same thing including recording Over-the-Air broadcasts. I just wanted to know if there is a redundancy in what I have downloaded (meaning I can delete one of them) or do both have specialized features.

They are the exact same app. Just pick one and delete the other.

Channels app is for people who don't want DVR. They can pay once and watch live tv (with pause/resume) forever.

Channels DVR app is for DVR subscribers. The app is free so as long as you're subscribed you can keep using it without paying anything extra for the app itself.

Can Channels DVR & Channels Live apps coexist with different settings? The scenario would be Channels Live for a local (LAN) HDHomeRun device and Channels DVR for a remote (different country) Channels DVR server. Will that work on tvOS/iOS or will I be constantly logged out of the remote server?

The apps share settings. But you should be able to use a local HDHR and remote DVR at the same time from either app.

That's even better, as long as the app can keep up with different guides and time zones. Thanks.
