I wanted to try a different Linux OS to use a DVR server. I saved a backup of the database to the external drive I use for the DVR and disabled bonjour service. I did not however disable the DVR. I just shutdown the computer and wiped the drive and installed a new Linux. When I installed channels on the new system and pointed the server to the storage, I was not prompted that the system found a backup. Now, I cannot seem to restore the DVR from the saved database. Any ideas what went wrong? Is there any way I can manually restore?
What exactly happens when you try to do so?
Does the dvr log show any errors? Could be a permissions issue.
There should be backups that were made automatically in your Database folder as well, next to your recordings.
Thank you! it just wasn't detecting the databases but when I pointed to http://x.x.x.x:8089/restore it worked just fine.
