Channelsdvr.net expiration warning

I have my Channels server being monitored by Uptime Kuma at it's URL of https://server-id.u.channelsdvr.net:8089/ and have recently started getting daily warnings that the domain channelsdvr.net is near expiry. WHOIS records confirm that it's due to expire on July 25th.

Just posting here to be sure the devs are tracking the impending expiry of the domain.

It's running 2026.06.29.0212.

What does my server version have to do with a domain registration owned by Channels?

Your DVR server renews it's own certificate. Check the DVR log.

2026/07/13 15:11:16.396538 [TLS] Requesting certificate for <redacted>.u.channelsdvr.net
2026/07/13 15:16:38.855994 [TLS] Certificate ready for <redacted>.u.channelsdvr.net

Look back up to 90 days for the last renewal (usually every 83 days)

Including unnecessary details is a recipe for confusion.

The WHOIS registration indeed shows expiration date for channelsdvr.net to be very close. https://www.godaddy.com/whois/results.aspx?domain=channelsdvr.net

Let's hope it gets renewed before the expiration date. I am sure somebody from FancyBits is on it already.

I'm trying to remember if the new renewal doesn't appear until the day of the expiration. This stuff has happened in the background of websites I've managed, so I never really checked exactly when it went down, especially because I pay well in advance.

They should also look into why channelsdvr.net is allowing TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1.

We got it.
