Choppy playback

I’ve started getting choppy playback on my AppleTV. I’m connected to ethernet, and I’m not seeing the same behavior on my iPad AIr2 and the iOS app.

There will be a pause in the video, and sometimes the sound will continue, or it will just be mute, then you’ll see the missed frames sort of fast forward to catch back up with realtime. very annoying, and made watching football this weekend unwatchable with Channels.

I’ve re-booted the AppleTV with no change. I guess this could be network related, but given the iPad over wifi preforms better, I’m not sold on that.

Any thoughts?

Looking forward to the DVR so I can replace mythtv with something that has easy play back on iPad which has become almost our main play back device.

Which HD Homerun are you using?

I have a Prime and an Extend. Seems to happen on both, even when the Extend is set to transcode/Heavy

Are you using v1.3.1 on your iOS device? If there was a video player issue on ATV v2.1.1, I would expect you to see it on iOS as well since the video backend code is the same.

iOS apps are up-to date. Will have to double check apple tv tonight.

Any word on this? I’m having the same issue and it is almost unwatchable.

I think it was network related in my house. trying to upgrade some switched to managed, so I can isolate some traffic to specific vlans.
