Chrome Capture for Channels when Away from Home

I successfully set up Chrome Capture for Channels for CNBC. When on Local Network 'Live Watching' and 'Playback of Recording' is buttery smooth, however when away from home at best I can only get a few frames to play and most of the time I get a black screen. This is true for both 'Live Watching' and 'Playback of Recording'.

The obvious explanation would be local network is faster than connecting to my Channels DVR server over the Internet, however when away from home both 'Live Watching' and 'Playback of Recordings' that do not use Chrome Capture for Channels (i.e. TVE) are buttery smooth.

Question: Does Chrome Capture for Channels stream a different type or sized video file to the Channels DVR Server than TVE that would explain why watching or playback is difficult when outside of local network?

You could try changing deinterlacer settings to linear in web ui, settings, advanced, advanced settings, transcoder, deinterlacer, linear. If that doesn’t work, does choosing original quality in the playback settings on the remote client make it play smooth?

I would suggest looking at CPU load. Both CC4C and transcoding while streaming may be more than your computer can handle.

And the winner is....... original quality in the playback!

Thanks Rice for cracking the case!
