Chrome required on MacOS?

Possibly stupid question, but TVE seems to work, mostly, without it. That being said i see the following in the logs, when scanning for sources, but only on a relatively small number:

2021/09/10 06:38:48.592408 [TVE] Channel scan 135/209 BTN failed: Google Chrome must be installed into your /Applications folder
2021/09/10 06:38:48.701448 [TVE] Channel scan 136/209 DEPORTES failed: Google Chrome must be installed into your /Applications folder
2021/09/10 06:38:48.811423 [TVE] Channel scan 137/209 FS-SOCCERPLUS failed: Google Chrome must be installed into your /Applications folder

The TVE feature requires chrome. I guess you restored a backup so some channels are still working, but they won't continue working for long without Chrome installed.

Yep. Went from Pi to M1 mini

Thanks. Might suggest adding a chrome install line to the macos (and i just checked, windows, too) install instructions. Linux had a line item for Chrome, so i didn't even think of it at installation, especially once it worked.

I have been running Channels for about a week now without Chrome installed on my Mac Mini. No issues. Then last night one of my TVE recordings failed with this in the log: TVE: Google Chrome must be installed into your /Applications folder. Just weird it worked without Chrome for a week recording TVE just fine.
