Chromecast device list not updating in Channels DVR app

I have multiple casting devices (Nvidia Shield with built-in Chromecast) a ChromecasDVR app can only see one of them. It's as if the list of devices and rooms that get displayed in the Channels DVR app (that pop up with the "Where do you want to watch it?" prompt) is stored on a server somewhere and there is no way to update it, because the list still includes a room name that I set up a long time ago in google home, but have subsequently changed. The list won't detect the new ChromecastUltra. I have tried uninstalling Channels, Google Home, hard resetting the Chrome cast etc, to no avail. Other apps with streaming capability, such as YouTube, Plex etc don't have this problem and detect all the Chromecast devices before streaming.

Any ideas?

That list is populated with currently running instances of the Channels app on your local network. If another device is not showing up in the list, make sure it has Channels currently running on it.

(Channels does not support casting; the "Play to" feature is for having the Channels app on a different device play the content.)

(Edited for grammar and clarification.)

This is a pretty old post, but does this work with different devices? For example, I have Channels running on my iPhone and also a Google Pixel Tablet. When I try and watch something on my iPhone it doesn't prompt showing the Android tablet as an option?

So just to confirm I wasn't dreaming about this working cross-platform, I tried on my Fire TV stick, and I could get my iPhone to change the channel on the Fire TV. So not sure why it won't work with the Pixel Tablet?

Maybe a setting I'm missing? Both seem to be running the same version of Channels:

Mobile versions of Channels do not have the Channels API, which is how Play To works.

Playing to mobile Channels has never been something you can do.

Dang that sucks lol...the Pixel Tablet has a cool feature where you can actually cast to it (from supported apps). I know Channels doesn't support Chromecast but was sort of hoping to be able to do it this way...
