When you press close on a series pass that is open there is a different bug for the iPad and iPhone. On the iPad, the first press of close moves the menu behind the pop up back once, then pressing it again closes it. On the iPhone, pressing close actually takes two presses instead of one when viewing a pass. This is on the regular app release and the current iOS beta.
I ran into this earlier today as well. Thanks for reporting.
