I found some old threads, but have there been any improvements and is there a way to have subtitles/closed captioning work with hardware transcoding?
It was working, but I'm not sure if it works for all forms of hardware transcoding. On Linux with VA-API hardware transcoding (h264_vaapi), closed captions are properly encoded.
Other hardware accelerated encoders may have different results.
To clarify I’m using Windows 10.
All I can say is give it a try and see if it works for you.
