Every time I reboot my mac, I have to go into CleanMyMac and enable com.getchannels.dvr" in order to get Channels to work. Any ideas on how to get this to enable automatically on stratup?
Get rid of cleanmymac?
It is basically considered malware by the vast Apple community of users. (so i find, just search the web and there is tons of negative reviews about it, especially since they charge a subscription / or so much for one time purcahse)
I am fairly new to the Apple computer world, however, such so called "cleaning / boosting apps" often cause more issues than they claim to solve.
With Windows, Registry cleaners, boosters and such, never made any positive measurable gain.
MacOS is Unix based at its core, and you does not need such "cleaning" done really.
Parallels Toolbox is the farthest i have dove into such tools, and its Clean Drive, clears Cache and things, often like 8GB. But, run it again, a few hours later, its the same thing. MacOS auto builds those files it clears back fast. RAM Booster, again, does not really do anything meaningfully, it anything at all, very temporary effect.
CleanMyMac also seem to interfere with startup/background process. Potentially have a built in firewall.
Third party softwares like that is not recommend to be used on a Channels DVR media server.
We can't work with an infinite amount of these third party tools, you'll just have to figure out how to make Channels DVR Server work with your tools.
You all are missing the issue here in your quest to knock third party apps. This has nothing to with a 3rd party app other than I have to use one to get com.getchannels.dvr to load after a reboot.
The third party app was the solution not the problem.
Run the channels installer from our website
The installer should auto set it to load at boot.
I have seen posts of MacOS users for their server needing to adjust system permissions and such, especially after an OS update. The most recent MacOS versions tend to have more picky security and permissions.
Otherwise, you can manually add applications to open at login in System Settings, General, Login Items & Extensions.
It Channels DVR server is already set to load at startup, and system permission correctly set, then most likely, a third party app is blocking it.
