I read through all the auto skip posts I could find, but I am still not sure I understand how to get this to function correctly. I am running Channels DVR on Windows and have the edl check box in the settings marked. When I play back a video on an android device I can see the commercial markers in the progress bar, but it does not automatically skip the commercials.

Is there another setting or command I need to do in order to have it auto skip based on those markers? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure that the "Automatically Skip Commercials" option in the Android App is enabled.

Go to Settings and select DVR, set to "On".

Yes, in the Android app's settings, go to:

Settings > DVR > Automatically Skip Commercials

It must be set per-client, and it defaults to Off. The EDL setting under the Experimental section of the DVR server's web UI is unrelated to auto-skipping commercials. (That option is for integration with external/third-party programs and post-processing of recordings. As long as you aren't using your recordings outside of Channels, you can ignore that setting.)

Thank you @mike_here and @racameron. I did not see that additional settings section when looking for the options. I have turned the setting on and I imagine that should do the trick.
