Every week or two shows start to fail commercial detection. The comskip log show commercial length of zero and the main log shows exit status 1. But if I restart the DVR server on my DS218+, it starts detecting the commercials correctly until a week or two later and I restart it again. If I don’t restart it continues to fail. Anyone seen this? Note: This should probably be in the DVR Server thread but I can’t move it.

Most likely a coincidence that rebooting your NAS seems to make it work again.
comskip isn't perfect and sometimes cannot detect any commercials in a show.
To prove it to yourself, when you have a show with no commercials detected, reboot your server and rerun commercial detection on that same show. I'm 99.999% sure it still won't detect any.
it would be nice if the status of the commercial detection was more visible in the client UI similar to any recording problems. comskip status - crashed/no commercials detected/success

I appreciate the response. I’m only stopping and starting the DVR service on the NAS, not rebooting the device. The commercial detection then starts on the very next recorded show and it’s good for another 1 to 2 weeks. Then every detection is exit status 1 until I restart the DVR service again.
