Commercial Detection

Anyone know what this means from the logs? I know commercial detection worked for a little while then stopped.

Commercial detection failed with fork/exec C:\ProgramData\ChannelsDVR\latest\comskip.exe: Access is denied.

Any idea how to fix?

I have also given the comskip.exe app full admin rights. also the ChannelsDVR folder has full access to my system.

Strange. What happens if you open PowerShell and run:

C:\ProgramData\ChannelsDVR\latest\comskip.exe

Do I have to wait for another recording to start or should I see it running in task manager?

What does it say in the shell when you run that command?

Okay that means the Access Denied error is still happening, even when you run it yourself.

I don’t know enough about windows to know why this would be happening…

Do you have the DVR installed in the system tray, or as a windows background service?

I get access denied when trying to run it myself, even as a administrator :frowning: Its currently installed in the system tray

Yea super weird. I’d say maybe try reinstalling the software. Run our installer utility and select uninstall, then install again.

After installing you’ll want to open http://127.0.0.1:8089/restore to find the most recent backup to restore all your existing passes and recordings.

Great thanks! Will let you know how I get on

Okay so after a fresh install and a few permissions issues, comskip now works - however when restoring from the backup all my passes are there but there is nothing showing in the scheduled recordings section. Guide data is still updating but I can record things that are airing now.

The schedule will populate once guide downloads. You can also pause/resume any pass to trigger an update.
