My dad's HDHR tuner died. He's decided he's not going to get another one. I set it up for him using Channels DVR. He wants to pull in the recordings into Plex. The problem is I didn't know when I setup Channels for him about checking the setting for commercial skip so commercial skip would work in Plex. Is there a way we can get commercial skip to work in Plex? Is there a program I could use to have the computer scan the recordings for commercials to skip them in Plex? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
You might want to reach out to plex support or maybe their forum?
FWIW it is very uncommon for HDHR to die. Usually the power supply fails and you can replace it.
You can batch convert the recordings and add chapter markers using either comchap or fileflows. The latter is easier as you just set to the recording folder and let it run
I tried posting in their forum with no response.
Thanks, I'll look into this. I need something that would automatically do it. Too many recordings. Whole series of shows.
Thanks, great support as always. I bought two universal power supplies with no luck.
Reach out to silicondust. Usually they're good about this. They might even send you a replacement unit

Yeah...Fileflows will work. With a bit of tinkering, you'll be set. It's a lot of info in the docs but it's worth it. I can even share a couple of flows that I use if you need it (you'll have to modify some things to your liking tho)
