Commercial skip on Android

New to Channels. I set up my server and I'm using the Android app (not Android TV) to watch recordings. During non-commercial playback I can fast forward/ rewind/ pause/ etc. Once it gets to a commercial break, the first commercial or two start playing and there is nothing I can do. The fast forward/ rewind/ pause buttons disappear. After the first 1-2 commercials finish playing, then the 'skip commercial' button pops up.

Is there any way to skip the first 1-2 commercials from a commercial break?

If you press the Android remote "back" button, the "skip commercials" button goes away from the screen. After that you should be able to fast-forward/rewind as usual.

Actually this wasn't really what I was asking. I wasn't getting the 'skip commercials' button at all until after I had watched through 1-2 commercials.

However, when the commercials start, I now press 'back' on Android and the 'skip commercials' button pops up and I can skip all the commercials. Awkward user interface, but workable.

Sorry, didn't read thoroughly what you wrote. Yeah, I've seen this, too, where the on-screen "Skip" button doesn't show right away. My client is a TiVo Stream4k: the remote has a "Skip" button that works with the Channels button detector. I can hit that button and it usually skips all the commercials, even if the "Skip Commercials" button isn't displaying. Not sure how you'd manage this without a remote with a button mapped to skip.

Press Right on the D-pad twice quickly, the same as it has always been.
