I need you to try it and if the images are broken or not so we know if the issue is replicating across freebsd installs.
I enabled "Automatically generate commercial editor thumbnails". Then ran redetect commercials and it died immediately as it has been doing.

Please find a recording, click the gear icon, select Edit Commercials and see if the images appear or not.
EDIT: Seems like you'll need to try it on an older recording where the commercials were detected
I don't have older recordings with the images generated. There for I see no images.

and it repeats many more times. At least this is consistent. I bet if he turns off "Automatically generate commercial editor thumbnails" we will only get the one line.
Observation: There are quite a few people that run the Channels plug-in (jail) on TrueNAS yet only TerryD and I are experiencing this issue. Both our systems use AMD CPUs. Could we be dealing with an incompatibility or possibly a missing compile or link option?
Have you checked the FreeBSD or Comskip forums? Do remember that while Channels may contribute to Ffmpeg and Comskip, but they are not the primary developers of those third-party projects.
We have reproduced the issue and are investigating a fix. This issue is isolated to prerelease and related to our recent upgrade to freebsd 13 for our build infrastructure.
