Is there a way that I can use the comskip donator version with channels. I already have a license for that version and it should identify the commercials faster for me since my streams are in h.264 and take some time. Is there a config file that I can change to have it execute that version? versus I presume the regular version built into channels dvr.

We are already using the donator version. I am one of the contributors on the comskip project and keep our version up to date with the latest fixes and performance improvements.
In fact our version has a number of crash fixes that are not yet in the official release, discovered by various users running Channels DVR on android, Linux, freebsd and other systems we support.
