ComSkip Hangs

ComSkip is hanging. Its been 33 minutes now since the recording ended. I have an HDHR Extend with Transcoding set to heavy in Channels DVR. Here is the log:

As I mentioned earlier it can take a long time. It depends on the cpu among other things. The procoessing only uses a single cpu core to avoid impacting other NAS operations.

Wait to see how long it takes, and compare it to a similar length mpeg2 recording.

Hmm. It took 1 hour and 11 min for a 30 minute show :open_mouth:

I thought it was mentioned in another thread that it takes like 5-6 minutes. But I guess that depends on your cpu spec? I do have a fairly new quad core arm8 though…

Also, is the mpg that it created a transcoded h264? Otherwise it would be a ts file right? Or did the Extend not transcode it?

The mpg file is a ts stream and contains either mpeg2 or h264.

Can you time an mpeg2 recording for comparison?

Did you get a chance to compare mpeg2 processing time? I would like to get a baseline so we can figure out which part needs optimizing for armv8

Sorry I been sick the last couple days I will try to do it tonight or sometime this week if not this weekend so you want me to do a recording with transcoder set to “none” and see how long comskip takes correct?
