Connecting to DVR server via laptop using lan

Is it possible to connect to my DVR server using my new LAN??

I used to hook in via WiFi but now my Server “Win 11” is connected directly to T-Mobile using Ethernet

I tried hooking a Ethernet cable to my switch and an adapter but I can’t seem to get thru??

Thank You Kevin

PS My old IP is

192.196.12.249

It should work right - Ethernet adapter -> tablet -> switch -> Server
I checked the IP and the first 3 sets of #’s are consistent

Thanx

So your server used to connect via WiFi? Now you connected your server via ethernet?

If that's correct, then your server's IP will have changed. You will need to fine it form your network connection status in Win 11

Network Switch -> T-Mobile LAN connection
Network Switch -> Channels Server
Network Switch -> Laptop
Set Reserved T-Mobile LAN side DHCP IP addresses for Channels Server and Laptop

OR

Network Switch -> Router -> T-Mobile LAN connection
Network Switch -> Channels Server
Network Switch -> Laptop
Set Reserved Router DHCP IP addresses for Channels Server and Laptop

I used 1,000 mb’s Ethernet cable for an internal LAN - works great Thanx

Using 5 port NetGear switch

3 ft cable - Network switch -> T-Mobile WiFi - is it a router, modem how to find out - do I need to know

3 ft cable - Network switch ->HdHomeRun

5 ft cable -Network switch -> TV - using adapter for Ethernet -> USB 3.0 - avg: 350mb’s

75 ft cable - Network switch -> Win PC host Channels DVR Server

25 ft cable - Network switch -> iPad Tablet - Apple using USB C - Ethernet Adapter

Do I need a router??
They look pretty cheap!

Do I need to find something specific??

New territory here!

Where would I find the ip for the Ethernet for Win 11 Pro

I hate dumping “IPCONFIG” on you, but, not sure how to ask the question?
If my ip has changed and this info shows my IP as preferred then what would I be looking for??

Thank You Kevin

IPConfig

I found the IP address by looking at the Tail Scale results for win11

Thank you
Kevin

PS would a router do anything for my setup

The t-mobile box is both a modem and a router. So no don’t buy a router. Why are you trying to use a Ethernet adapter on an iPad? Just join the WiFi.

Thought I had to because of the LAN
I was asking about using WiFi with the LAN I thought it would be incapatible because I was using the wrong address

Tail Scale gave me the correct address
For some reason when I used CMD on win/ ipconfig/all I didn’t
See the address under Ethernet

Maybe I used the wrong request

Thank You Kevin

It's a bit confusing because your subject is about a laptop which you never mention again and then you throw in an iPad and Tailscale.

For someone to help you with networking, at the minimum they need to know what devices you have, how they're connected to your network and what their IP addresses are.
