Connection Lost message

I keep getting a ‘connection lost’ message after watching a live TVE channel for about 5 minutes. I can go back to the guide, click the channel again, and it goes for a little while again.

I’m using the latest Apple TV beta and a Mac for the DVR. My signal strength to the Apple TV is solid and fast, any ideas what could be going on?

Can you email the DVR logs to [email protected] and Submit Diagnostics Logs from the Apple TV app?

I am getting this same error.

Running: 2021.07.16.0117

We start to get this error on our Apple TV's playing live TV from AT&T Now and LOCAST. At first it seemed to be happening mainly with LOCAST Channels but the log below was with FOX News and FOX Business. My wife and daughter use Live TV a lot more than me and they have been complaining for maybe a month or so. Then I started to see it a few weeks ago.

To get out of the error we just hit the back button and start again without a problem. So most just a hassle. I seemed to notice a more when I have a buffer but my wife says that is not her case. She said it happens both when live and also with a buffer.

I, too, am seeing this quite frequently. However, since I am new to Apple TV, I believe this is a platform discrepancy.

On Android, TVE/internet streams seem to be a bit more resilient. The video player pauses/buffers, and generally recovers better with missed network segments.

On Apple TV, bad/missing segments seem to cause more issues. Pausing may help the player recover, but it is not as resilient as the Android player.
