I'm running Channels DVR Server in a Docker container on a QNAP NAS. I'm using an Amazon Fire TV Cube for the playback device. When I select a channel from the guide to see what movies are playing, and then play a recording, I get a Connection Lost watermark in the middle of the screen. To fix, I have to restart the Channels app on the Cube or restart the Cube. Then it doesn't seem to happen anymore the rest of the day. Is there anything I can do to fix this so I don't run into this anymore? I just submitted diagnostics.
Welcome to the CDVR Community!
Are both the QNAP and the FireTV Cube running 24x7? Are you running the Cube via Ethernet or Wi-Fi?
Cube is connected via Ethernet. The QNAP runs 24x7. I'm not sure about the Cube. I have the power button on the Cube remote set to turn off/on the TV. I'm guessing the Cube shuts off since it always seems to be at the home screen when turning the TV on. Does that help?
If all is well for the rest of the day, I'm just wondering what might be happening overnight that would cause this. Any chance you have more than one CDVR server running?
No, I've just got the one instance running. I should mention it's the TVE image since I have YouTube TV for most channels and frndlyTV for the rest. I don't know if that changes things. That said, I also have ADBTuner and frndlytv-for-channels running in separate Docker containers on the QNAP.
